The African Energy Week (AEW) 2021 will take place from Tuesday, November 9th, to Friday, November 12th, 2021, at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa. The African Energy Chamber’s (AEC) four-day high-level conference is the first-ever interactive exhibition and networking event aimed at uniting African energy stakeholders, driving industry growth and development, and positioning Africa as the destination for African-focused events.
The event will also feature the first-ever African Energy Village, which will consist of a hub of venues that can accommodate 700 attendees from Africa’s energy sector. Attendees will have the option of selecting whatever sessions they want to attend, as well as expanded sponsorship opportunities while keeping to COVID-19 rules.
According to the AEC: “The concept of an Energy Village lends a narrative of networking through the sector’s advancements of leapfrogging the energy transition; work towards renewable energy solutions; addressing opportunities and challenges of investment on the continent and creating an enabling environment.”
“Additionally, the Energy Village enables companies to explore sponsorship opportunities with high-level reception options including lunches and cocktail events, as well as panel discussions and a golf tournament. This concept ensures increased exposure for companies, and additionally creates the opportunity for more exclusive sessions, enabling intimate networking opportunities.”
Some of the speakers and VIPs at the event are the secretary-general of OPEC, Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, the Senegalese Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Aissatou Sophi Gladima, the Equatorial Guinean Minister of Mines, Industry and Energy, Gabriel Obiang Lima, the Angolan Minister of Mineral Resources and Petroleum, Diamantino Azevedo, the Nigerian Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, the Minister of Hydrocarbons, the Republic of Congo, Bruno Jean Richard Itoua, the Nigerien Minister of Petroleum, Energy and Renewable Energies, Mahamane Sani Madamadou, the secretary-general of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, Yury Sentyurin, the Secretary-General of APPO, Dr Omar Farouk Ibrahim, the Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber, NJ Ayuk, and several other leading industry players in the African and global energy scene.
