Baker Hughes and Egypt’s Petrojet have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand their collaboration in the areas of supplying specialised petrochemicals including well efficiency, petrochemical transportation, warehouse tests, sulfur and carbon dioxide extraction from oil, and industrial treatment.

The signing took place following a meeting between Egypt’s petroleum minister and a Baker Hughes delegation to explore ways to improve cooperation in project design and implementation, as well as equipment manufacturing.

The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla, Petrojet Chairman Waleed Lotfy, and Baker Hughes Director and General Manager for Egypt and Sudan, Tamer Nasser, signed the MoU.

During the meeting, the Egyptian Minister discussed changes in the international energy industry, especially in light of the global effort to combat climate change by implementing green energy to help reduce carbon dioxide emissions. He predicted that further petroleum investments will be made in Egypt as foreign oil companies have expressed interest in doing so.
