At the African Bar Association Annual Conference (#AFBA), Prof. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu joined fellow panelists for a critical discussion on “Foreign Interests in Africa: Investment Agreements.” The session examined how Africa can redefine its engagement with global partners—ensuring that foreign investments create genuine value for African nations and their people. As the continent continues to draw attention from the East, the West, and emerging economies, Prof. Kachikwu emphasized the need for balance, mutual respect, and sustainable development. He underscored that Africa’s partnerships must be rooted in clear priorities, strong institutions, and a vision for inclusive growth.
