LEKOIL Cayman has announced Mrs Aisha Muhammed-Oyebode’s resignation as Non-Executive Director, effective immediately, after serving on the board for over six years and serving as temporary chairperson before she was appointed Chairperson of the Board in January 2021.
Following its announcement earlier this month of the dismissal of LEKOIL’s Founder, Olalekan Akinyanmi, for corporate governance breach, which was refuted by LEKOIL Nigeria, the Founder has confirmed his resignation as a director of the Company, according to the release.
Mr Anthony Hawkins is the Executive Chairman, Mr Al Tindall Jr. is a Non-Executive Director, Mr Tom Richardson is a Non-Executive Director, and Mr Marco D’Attanasio is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of the Company.
Commenting, the Company’s recently appointed Executive Chairman, Mr. Anthony Hawkins, said: “Given that Ms. Muhammed-Oyebode continues to serve as Chair of Lekoil Nigeria, this change is appropriate and the Board now accurately reflects the Company’s shareholder base and its vision for the Company.”
It’s unclear whether LEKOIL Nigeria will oppose the release of LEKOIL Cayman or if the company’s two arms have struck an understanding.
