Shearwater Geoservices has announced that it has been contracted for a large towed steamer 3D and Fast Track processing project by Total Exploration & Production Senegal.
The two-month survey is to commence in the fourth-quarter of 2020. The exploration survey is to cover 5,000 square kilometres in the UDO Block Exploration area, offshore Senegal. The data acquisition is to be carried out by SW Empress using an ultra-wide tow Flexisource configuration and Fast Track processing is to be done by Shearwater’s proprietary Reveal software.
The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Irene Waage Basili said, “We are pleased to be awarded this contract by Total in North West Africa, providing us with back-to-back work for one of our vessels. Leveraging our strong geographically dispersed fleet to drive efficiencies and minimise transit times and thereby create commercial and environmental benefits for our clients is a key element of our strategy.”
Total and Shearwater Geoservices seem to share a good working relationship as the French oil and gas giants also recently awarded the company to work in North West Africa’s MSGBC Basin.
Shearwater Geoservices is a provider of 3D and 4D marine seismic data, imaging products and data processing software. According to the company, “[the] proprietary seismic processing software, Reveal, is the most modern, highly interactive, efficient and user-friendly platform for all aspect of processing and imaging in the market.”
