Algeria to Commission Hassi-R’mel Gas Stations in Q1 2021

Algeria’s state-owned oil company, Sonatrach, will commission the Sonatrach Group’s gas compressions stations in Hassi-R’mel (Laghouat) in Q1 2021, after the completion of the current works which are coming to an end.

The project has three stations – North, Centre and South. The stations consist of 4, 10 and 4 gas compression units respectively with a treatment capacity that is estimated at 43 million cubic metres per day (mcm/d) for the North station, 110 million cubic metres per day (mcm/d) for the Centre station and 37 million cubic metres per day (mcm/d) for the South station.

According to Sonatrach, after coming into service in the first quarter of next year, the North and the Centre units will allow for production to be maintained for almost 10 years.

During an inspection visit to monitor the implementation of the projects by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sonatrach, Toufik Hakkar; the regional director, Baali Mohamed El-Seghir Redha, and the project manager, Loucif Youcef, the CEO of Sonatrach commissioned the four units of this station from the control unit equipped with sophisticated technical and digital equipment.
