The National Oil Corporation of Libya (NOC) has announced the lifting of force majeure at Sidra and Ras Lanuf ports.

The Corporation said that upon the restart of production from Al-Waha and Al-Harouj fields, the output would reach 800,000 barrels per day within two weeks and 1 million barrels per day in four weeks.

Instructions have been given to initiate production arrangements with security, public safety standard and safety of operations taken into consideration. It said foreign forces have evacuated the port area allowing operations and export to commence.

It applauded the efforts made by local and international bodies and pledges it will adhere to the professional and non-political constants and perform its supposed duties without partiality.

The production of gas feeding the electric power production units in Zweitina and North Benghazi will also increase.

It also noted that lack of sufficient financial allocations to pay off the accumulated debts on the oil sector and to conduct necessary maintenance operations and repair damage caused by the shutdown will prevent the country from maintaining the production rates.
